“But wisdom is vindicated by all her children.” (Luke 7:35)
Saint Augustine of Hippo comments on this verse from the Gospel proclaimed at Mass today:
The Lord made a truly necessary addition to these words when he said, “And wisdom is justified by her children.” If you ask who those children are, read what is written, “The sons of wisdom are the church of the just. (Letter 36)
