Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion

“... though He was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God something to be grasped. Rather, He emptied (ἐκένωσεν) Himself, taking the form of a slave, coming in human likeness; and found human in appearance ... (Philippians 2:6-7).”

Sunday, the Fifth of Lent: Scrutiny III

“And when He [Jesus] had said this, He cried out in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!”  The dead man came out, tied (δεδεμένος) hand and foot with burial bands, and his face was wrapped in a cloth. So Jesus said to them, “Untie (λύσατε) him and let him go (John 11:43-44).””

Sunday, the Fourth of Lent: Scrutiny II

“So they said to him, “(So) how were your eyes opened (ἠνεῴχθησάν, eneochthesan)?” He replied, “The man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and told me, ‘Go to Siloam and wash.’ So I went there and washed and was able to see.” And they said to him, “Where is he?” He said, “I don't know.” They brought the one who was once blind to the Pharisees. Now Jesus had made clay and opened (ἀνέῳξεν, aneozen) his eyes on a sabbath (John 9:10-14).”
